Walter Ray Allen Jr. was born on July 20, 1975, at Castle Air Force Base, near Merced, California to Walter Sr. and Flora Allen. Ray Allen is the third of five children and is a military child, who spent time growing up in, England, California, Oklahoma, and Germany. He moved to Dalzell, South Carolina, where he attended high school for four years. Allen spent his years being picked on by other children because of his formative language. He finished his UConn college career third on the Huskies’ career scoring list with 1,922 points as well as set a school record by connecting 115 three-pointers in 1995-96.
