Randall Darius Jackson also known as Randy Jackson was born on June 23, 1956, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Julia, a homemaker and Herman Jackson, a plant foreman. He is the youngest of three children. Randy Jackson began his interest in music when he was 13 years old, when he started playing the bass guitar. After learning how to play the guitar, he would sneak out late at night to play at the local clubs. After graduating from Southern University in 1979, Jackson pursued his dream as a musician and played with everyone from Herbie Hancock to Bob Dylan.
