Plaxico Antonio Burress was born on August 12, 1977, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Vickie Burress. He was named after his uncle and has two brothers, Ricardo and Carlos Burress. Plaxico Burress graduated from Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1996 and he spent post-graduation year at Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia. He attended Michigan State University, where he played as a wide receiver. In his later years, he married Tiffany Glenn in 2005 and they have a son, named, Elijah and a daughter, named Giovanna, together.

Career

Plaxico Burress started his football career in college at Michigan State University. After leaving college, he went on to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2000, and the New York Giants. In 2008, he helped the Giants take a win at Super Bowl XLII, but unfortunately, he suffered a self inflicted gunshot wound to the thigh.
