Paul Heyman was interested in the professional wrestling world from a young age. At 13 years of age, he had his own photo lab to take photographs of professional wrestlers. In 1985, New York Studio 54 hired him as a professional photographer. Quickly, he became the producer of Studio 54 and hosted Wrestle Party 85 show. In 1987, he made his managerial debut with Championship Wrestling from Florida. He became known as Paul E. Dangerously because he looked similar to Michael Keaton’s role in Johnny Dangerously.
Paul Heyman became the manager to Tommy Rick and Austin Idol. He was notorious for using his mobile phone which was considered as a foreign object in those days. After his managerial stint at AWA, he moved on to Continental Wrestling Federation in Alabama. He was recognized as an innovative television producer and writer.
In 1988, Paul Heyman moved to Jim Crockett Promotions while working closely with Jim Ross. In 1991, he formed the Dangerous Alliance and became its manager. His team dominated the WCW for a few years.
