Mikaela Shiffrin was born on 13th March 1995 in Vail, Colorado in the United States. She was born to Eileen and Jeff Shiffrin and she was the 2nd child to them. They were both former ski racers and are from the region of the Northeastern United States. Her father was from New Jersey and used to perform sky racing during the weekends with his family. In New Hampshire, he raced for Dart-mouth College while he was undergraduate. Her mother also raced in the Berkshires during her high school. Shiffrin’s brother also raced for the University of Denver. Mikaela’s family has moved to the area of the rural New Hampshire near Lyme in 2003 when she was 8 years old. Shiffrin has attended the middle school at Burke but she has to move to Colorado before coming back to Burke.

In the December, Shiffrin competed at Lake Louise and reached at the downhill podium for the first time by securing the 3rd place for her.
