Macaulay Carson Culkin was born on August 26, 1980, in New York City, New York, to Patricia Brentrup, who was never married to Culkin’s father, and Christopher Cornelius “Kit” Culkin, a former actor, who was known for his Broadway productions. Macaulay Culkin is the third of seven children, five boys and two girls. His mother was a telephone operator and his father worked as a sacristan at a local Catholic church, and while growing up, the family lived in a small apartment. Macaulay Culkin was raised Roman Catholic and attended St. Joseph’s School of Yorkville for five years, before he started to attend the Professional Children’s School. He also studied ballet as a child at the School of American Ballet.
