Larry Brown was born on September 14 in the year 1940 in Brooklyn, New York America. His full name is Lawrence Hervey Brown. He is Jewish. He had attended the Long Beach High School and played there at point guard position.
Then at the University of North Carolina, his coach there was the legendary Frank McGuire and Dean Smith. Because of his height, he was considered too small to play in the NBA, so he had started with the NABIL’S Akron Wingfoots his career after he completed his college.
He had played there for about two years. He had got selected for the 1964 Summer Olympics team and with which he had won a gold medal as well. Then for a brief period of time, he had worked as an assistant coach at North Carolina.
Larry then joined the upstart American Basketball Association where he played with the New Orleans, Oakland Oaks, and Washington Cap among many others. Larry was named to the all ABA Second team that same year.
He started his first head coaching career with Davidson College in North Carolina in the year 1969. Then he moved to ABA and coached with the Carolina Cougars and after that Denver Nuggets that had later joined the NBA in the year 1976.
