Joseph Anthony Fatone Jr., was born on January 28, 1977, in Brooklyn, New York, City, to Phyllis and Joseph Anthony Fatone Sr., an actor and musician. Joey Fatone grew up in Bensonhurst and attended Joseph B. Cavallaro J.H.S. He has two older siblings, Janine and Steven. Fatone and his family moved to Orlando, Florida when he was 13 years old.
