He was born on November 20, 1964 at Kansas City, Missouri. His mother Bettye was a teacher and father Donald Cheadle Sr. was a Clinical Psychologist. Their family was constantly on the move. He went to Hartley Elementary School in Nebraska and graduated from East High School in Colorado. He finally graduated in Acting from the California Institute of Arts.
One of the early roles of Cheadle was for Hamburger Hill. He got his SAG card after acting in a comedy movie called Moving Violations in the year 1985. His first popular role was for “Devil in Blue Dress. He won two awards for the role of Mouse Alexander for this movie. He followed it up with Rosewood and Boogie Nights.
